RED WINES
Austins Shiraz
Blackberry and red fruits provide the foundation upon which secondary flavours of liquorice and clove complex the whole. Distinctly regional to Geelong, and Sutherlands Creek in particular, those savoury elements provide a fine counterpoint to the lifted fruit. All of this superbly sculptured by a fresh acidity. Deeply flavoured, the palate fulfils the promise of the bouquet and emphasises those facets; blackberry, clove and liquorice reduced to a savoury intensity with a hint of chocolate. The 'lift', so distinct in the nose, plays out along the palate and puts the restrained breadth of the wine into perspective; an elegant Geelong shiraz with the grace of old world style.

sixfootsix Shiraz
The Shiraz returns to the sixfootsix range this year. From the 2005 vintage, this wine offers rich and succulent fruit supported by subtle oak and secondary, savoury flavours. With an elegant style that is more akin to Heathcote than anything outside Victoria, this red is very drinkable. Very much in its youth, this Shiraz will benefit from decanting simply to allow the array of characters to blossom. Once again, the quality of our Sutherlands Creek vineyard shines through in a style that gives satisfaction both on the palate and at the till.

Austins Pinot Noir
An amethyst meniscus graduates to ruby hues, gleaming and brilliant in the glass. The bouquet shows impressive dimensions and structure. Dominant black cherry and subtle plum perfumes seep into the senses in league with a delicious savoury edge: a hallmark of the house style. All this is finely detailed by a vibrant acidity. This wine offers layered complexities, flavours and sensations the sum of which equates to harmony and finesse. Plum and cherry, dark stone fruits are balanced by an inviting, tamarind-like spice. Distinctive, appealing and graceful, this estate wine is a seductive example of blending new world fruit with old world style. A sumptuous pinot noir that confirms the family's determinations.

WHITE WINES
Austins Riesling
Lime and lemon dominate the senses, vibrant and finely detailed by a fresh acidity. While this Riesling is a little broader than classic structure, it is the generosity that establishes a distinct style and sets the wine apart from the pack. Citrus sherbet saturates the front palate. The lime character provides the flavour backbone running long and lean on the tongue. Vibrant and refreshing, this Riesling continues the progression of the variety in the Mooroobool Valley and satisfies those seeking a point of difference.

Austins Sauvignon Blanc
The lightest gold and bright in the glass. The layers of flavour that run the length of the tongue are complimented by a gun-flint like character from a small portion of barrel ferment, light and detailed on the back palate. All of this lingers, on a polished, persistent aftertaste, in a wine that underscores the distinctive relationship between grape and site found in the Sutherlands Creek sub-Region. Refreshing and exhilarating, this salivating white offers a different stance on the variety.
